Guidelines for Oral Presentations
Lecture Rooms
Oral presentations are organized in Oral Sessions scheduled in specific lecture rooms given in the programme, together with the time of presentation of each contribution including discussion and change over. In the Congress Centre Prague (KCP), the lecture rooms are organized according to the conference schedule. Each lecture room is equipped with one overhead and one data projector together with a laptop/desktop computer (PC Version) and a laser-pointer.

One projectionist will be present in each lecture room. He/she will provide technical support, show slides (if necessary), and help the chairperson and the speakers.

PC Demonstration
There are two options for transferring the presentation to PC:

  1. either the author brings his/her own presentation on CD or USB 2.0 flash disk and installs it at the Central PC Demonstration Station (equipped with DVD-ROM supporting CD-R, DVD+, DVD- ) - authors are requested to install their presentation in advance, at least a day before their presentation, or
  2. he/she sends his/her presentation electronically prior to the conference to the address jirkovsky@infocom.cz. The organizers encourage the authors to send their presentation electronically before the Conference.

The software installed on the Central PC Demonstration Station includes Windows XP Pro SP2, MS Office 2003 Pro (Power Point), Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0, Windows Media Player 9.0 and Internet Explorer 6 (not connected to the internet). The presentation should be prepared in PowerPoint (version MS 2003 or lower) with graphic resolution max 1024x768. It is strongly recommended to use standard fonts like Arial, Times New Roman and Courier and avoid using special national characters.

Guidelines for Poster Presentations
Poster Areas
Poster presentations are organized in Poster Sessions, and Poster Sessions belonging thematically to the same overall topic are organized in adjacent poster areas.

Poster Boards
In general, for each poster one numbered poster board in portrait format is reserved with an overall dimension of 950 mm (width) x 2235 mm (height). All the material necessary for attaching the poster to the poster board (double-faced adhesive tape) is available at the Facility Desk in the respective poster area. In addition, there are assistants to help authors in putting up or taking down their posters.

The number of each poster paper and of its corresponding poster board is given in the appropriate session programme. The black-and-white Poster Board Numbers will be fastened at the Poster Board Desk.

Display Time
The Display Time is the time for the actual display of all posters. Authors are kindly asked to put up their posters as soon as possible; they will have the possibility to display their posters from 3 p.m. Sunday, June12th, and all posters will be displayed throughout the whole conference. Authors should take their posters down after the Conference finishes on Friday, June 17th, after 4 p.m. Any remaining posters will be taken down by the conference staff and will not be delivered to the authors!

Poster Sessions
During the conference, 3 poster sessions will be organized (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday). Authors are requested to be available for questions and discussion at their poster during the appropriate poster session. Poster sessions will be announced in the conference programme.

Poster Preparation
Place the title of your presentation prominently at the top of the poster board to allow viewers to identify your poster easily. Highlight the author's name and address information, in case the viewer is interested in contacting him/her for more information.

Prepare all diagrams or charts neatly and legibly, in a size sufficient to be read at a distance of 1.5-2.0 metres. The type should be at least 2.5 cm high. Please be creative, and use different font sizes and styles, perhaps even colour, and double-space all text. Use different colours or textures for each line or bars contained in graphs or charts.
